Sewing classes

6 week course April-May 2026

Dates; Wednesdays 22nd & 29th April, 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th May

3.15-4.15pm   (Only 6 places on each course. If this time slot fills up first I will add another time 4.15-5.15pm)

The course will be held in the Killaloe area.

Suitable for beginners and improvers

For beginners the course will include;

Threading and troubleshooting sewing machine and needles, controlling and best practice on sewing machine, cutting and measurement skills, how to use an iron, understanding cloth and thread qualities. They will also learn about colour contrast through a patchwork technique and hand sewing.

For improvers who have attended before;

This course will be aimed at becoming more confident and self sufficient on the machine. We will incorporate hand sewing into the project to offer another form of working. We will work towards finishing a product with added elements such as buttons, fasteners etc.

About Lynn;

Lynn has 28years of teaching and faciliatating creative subjects in various educational settings; primary, secondary, adult education and 3rd level education. She has a Degree from NCAD in contemporary embroidery, a Hdip in adult and community education and a certificate in art and wellbeing from Crawford college, Cork. She is currently undertaking a certificate in Eco Arts in MTU Crawford college. Lynn is garda vetted and has completed  ‘Introduction to children first’ training.

She is passionate about passing down the skill of sewing. Looking back, hand sewing and in particular patchwork was a creative outlet and a well being practice for her when she was growing up.

Up to 30 days before class starts – 100% refund

30 – 14 days before class starts – 50% refund

14 days before class starts or when course has started – 0% refund

Should you miss a class due to sickness or for any other reason, class term fee unfortunately cannot be refunded.
