Introduction to free motion embroidery (using a sewing machine) Basic sewing machine skills needed.

Artist Lynn Kenny has 27 years experience working with stitch as a drawing tool and as a creative facilitator in various education settings

This is a unique opportunity to learn a specialised skill with very effective results. This workshop will involve translating line drawings into stitched drawings onto cloth. This can be used on clothing surfaces, interior fabric textiles and in textile art.

Each participant will learn how to prepare and control a sewing machine for free motion embroidery, how to translate a drawing onto fabric and prepare various fabrics for stitching.

This workshop will open up a whole world of possibilities where you can Customise pieces of clothing with your own unique stitched designs, embellish interior fabrics and learn a new exciting method of drawing.

The day starts at 10am (or 9.30 if you’d like to ease in with a cuppa!) and ends at 4pm. All you need to bring on the day is a packed lunch,  your machine (if you have one) and fabric. (Lynn will advise)

The workshop is a relaxed and creative day where you will learn new skills, exchange ideas, chat loads and drink tea.

It will be held in my studio in Ogonnelloe in East Clare, 10 minutes from Killaloe.
