It has been such a huge thing for me to complete this new website, as for the past few years I have been procrastinating and putting it off! I knew it was going to involve a huge amount of work, with stumbling blocks and learning curves. I knew I would have to spent days away from making to work on photography and hours of writing and re writing content. But its finished and i couldn’t be happier. I had a fantastic team in Little Blue Studio, who nurtured and carried me through ever step and the talented and so patient photographer Denis Vahey!
Our favourite shots from our two days shooting were of the forest in Ballycuggaran in East Clare. We loved the idea of shooting nature inspired work in a forest setting, setting up an outdoors sitting room scene. These shots were taken at dusk so there is great depth and darkness in them,which contrast well with the products. These forest hold great memories for me as we regularly go walking here. We have had our children’s birthday parties here too, playing animal treasure hunts and letting the kids run wild (and running off all that sugar!).
I felt the purpose of my website was to come out from the shadows of my work and introduce myself and to showcase all the new work and products I have to offer. I have really enjoyed the process of expanding; seeing my images placed on functional homeware products (which I suppose I designed first and foremost for my own home!).
You can now buy a little jug, a unique personalised baby gift, a giclee print right up to organise and start the process of commissioning a personalised artwork. It’s all there, but theres more to come in 2017. I have lots of new ideas for both products and more personal work, so I hope you will come back and check in and experience what next year has to bring!
