Suitable for beginners and improvers
On this workshop we will learn and re cap on the workings of the sewing machine; how to thread it up, wind a bobbin and stitch width, length and tension and learn to trouble shoot common problems, seam allowances and control of machine. How to iron, press and finish a product.
We will learn how to pin up and cut simple pattern pieces from fabric.
The workshop will incorporate this time hand stitching and sewing buttons and Velcro.
we will aim to complete a personalised wash bag or pencil case with embroidered detail.
If you have a sewing machine, its a good idea to bring your own, so your child can get used to it. Otherwise, I have a few machines here that can be used.

Lynn has 28years of teaching creative subjects in various educational settings; primary, secondary, adult education and 3rd level education. She has a Degree from NCAD in contemporary embroidery, a Hdip in adult and community education and in the process of completing a certificate in art and wellbeing in Crawford college, Cork. Lynn is garda vetted and has completed ‘Introduction to children first’ training.
